    Need an opinion on safety.

I have a Cannondale Quick Carbon 1 that was ridden with the seat post not quite tight enough. That caused the seat post to drop and because the seat-tube changes shape the force caused a small crack on the back of the seat-tube right at the transition point. Here is a bike of a Quick Carbon for reference: http://****************/wp-content/up...-city-bike.jpg The crack is right about where the "C" is and is about an inch long.

I want to sell this bike and want to get a consensus on the safety. I would, obviously, disclose the damage but if it's totally unsafe I don't think I should sell it.

    Thoughts??

The crack can and should be repaired. There are more than a few firms doing this work. No reason to trash the bike.

    +1, I'd call Cannondale first.
