    Montague bikes clearance question

Does anyone know if 650b wheels would fit on a Montague rear triangle with a MTB tire?

I know that other forum members have been able to fit 700c:

(Apparently I cannot post links referencing the actual thread yet but the mtbr thread topic is titled "So I had a Montague Paratrooper...")

So I wonder if the 1.5" difference between the 700c and 650b wheels would work in favor of fitting MTB tires!

    Any thoughts?

700c with road tire is about the same as 26" mtb with tires. 650b is 1.5" bigger than 26". How much clearance do you have on your paratrooper now? If you have an inch and some change you may be able to make it work.

What about clearance for fatter 26" tires like 2.4's? I'm considering this as a travel frame for road trips, airplanes, etc. I'm running 2.2's right now on my current frame.

Running 26" is as high as you're going to go on the paratrooper frame.
There is less than an inch clearance between my frame and the tire on my bike.
I dont know if they changed the dimensions on their newer frames though mine is around 7 years old.
