    Mongoose bike choice

I have an opportunity to buy a couple of mongoose bikes at some excellent prices. I am currently looking at a 2009 otero, 2010 Canaan comp, and a Teocali 2009 comp. The otero is a little over $200 cheaper than the other two but both of those are also good deals.

I am a pretty novice rider looking to go a lot more this season. Most of the riding I'm doing will be xc (distance/speed) with some single track sprinkled in. I'm a bigger dude at 230 and I'm a bit worried about the suspensions as I want them to feel and perform pretty stiff. Looking for opinions on the bikes and if they'll be ok for my size/what I'm doing with them.

For me its a toss up between the 2 freedrive bikes but component wise I give the edge to the Canaan.

+1...the Freedrive is superior to the Otero and the Canaan has the best fork and rear shock and is the most XC orientated of the group
