    Hello fellow Aussie.

The Malvern Star at least has a name brand fork (even though it's only an RST) - it's also an 80mm for rather than the piddly 60mm on the Jamis. The Malvern star has a slightly higher spec drivetrain and Shimano cable discs, which I know work OK. I can't speak for the Tektro's on the Jamis as I've never used a set.

Is there a price difference? How much did you want to spend - there may be other options.

As 'Sideknob' said, the Malvern Star has better components on it.

I think you will struggle to beat the Malvern Star for that money.
