I have a '07 Warrior 6.0 and I use it for moderate DH and some All mountain stuff and I wanted to replace the fork. Right now I have a Rock Shox Tora 289, U-Turn 85mm - 130mm Travel. I was thinking of upgrading to a longer travel fork and possibly a dual crown fork but I wanted to know if it was possible due to frame geometry and what not. I also have a bent rear rotor and I was wondering how to fix it.
read the FAQ in Brakes forum,....take a crescent wrench and with a dry rag over the rotor, force it-in small increments-back into true. DON'T CONTAMINATE THE ROTOR WITH GREASY FINGERS.
On the fork, check the IH website for the mfrs recommended maximum travel before your buy a new fork. Jim
I checked the website and I found out that the recommended max travel was 130mm. If I do put a bigger fork on it what's gona happen. I know the bike will feel odd and ride odd but is it worth it?
perhaps 140mm would be OK, anything more you risk breaking the head tube off at the frame, and the bike won't handle worth cr@p. It's just like bigger shoes don't make you run faster, just fall and run poorly. bigger isn't better. Jim
