I don't know what bike to get <Iron Horse> Quantum II, 2008 Maverick 3.0 or Other?

    So lets face it:
    1. I have limited budget. (Sucks for me! Yes, I know)
    2. I live in NYC (There is a big chance my bike will be stolen in the next few days, months, years...Who know?)
    3. I read some reviews and I saw one of the bikes I'm thinking of buying, but then I had no chance to ride it, and I have no idea what bike to buy.

I could either get the "Wall Mark" made "Iron Horse" (Cough* FAKE!!!) Quantum II, or the 2008 Maverick 3.0 from

If I get the Quantum II from Sports Authority then I'll only pay $325(Bike + Tax included) and if I get the Maverick then ill play $350(Bike + Shipping included) and I don't know if I'll pay tax or not.

I originally want to buy a Maverick 5.0, but the people from Sports Authority refused to sell it to me saying, "The bike is not in a working condition, therefore we can not sell it to you because it may injure your life". I don't know what is wrong with these people anymore, now they don't even except money, haha.

So, please help me with my decision. If you have any other suggestion I am open to hear them. I just don't want to pay a lot of money for the bike because I'm scared it will be stolen (like my old bike) and I want a hard tail bike.

If you're interested in mail order and are of the right size, the Forge 5xx is a much better bike for the same money. Search and you'll find info on this site.

I have the Iron Horse Quantum II and I love it. I tried this bike and the Maverick 5.0 and chose the Quantum II because it just felt more well put together. Lightweight, strong, and a good list of parts.

Do yourself a favor and go to Sports Authority and sit on one....maybe even take if for a test drive.

    btw, mine came with:
ROCK SHOX Dart1 fork 100mm travel
    Hayes MX-4 Disc brakes
    ITS Ninja tires

I too own the Quantum and I think its a great bike. It was a see if I like riding again bike before I spent more money. I still ride it from time to time. Great trail bike for me as well as city life. Also with the BarBQ color maybe the folks in NY wont think its a bike. Good luck
Handle every stressful situation like a dog. If you can't eat it or play with itů Pee on it and walk away
