Hi, I bought a Raleigh ht last year to start mtbiking and I (obviously) want to upgrade. Initially I wanted a full blown dh bike, but I think it'd be overkill for the trails here (no big jumps, drops, just technical singletrack). So now I'm looking for a full suspension trail bike under $2500. My problem is that I'm really tall at 6´2, but I hate XL frames. At least I hate my current bike, it looks really out of proportion, tiny wheels enormous frame. I also suspect that the wheels are too close together, I feel like I am riding on top of it, not "in" it. It is nervous and twitchy at high speeds.
I've already looked at the specialized camber or santa cruz heckler, but I'm afraid that I will also come to hate them because of the extra large frame. It seems like the medium size is the "perfect" frame...
So, could you recommend me bikes that are more proportional for a taller rider? I don't know if I should be looking at more wheelbase, or 29ers or what...
