    Fork for Rocky Vertex

I just bought a used 2001 Rocky Vertex for a song. But the front fork is shot. The bike is XT/XTR/Sram 9.0 with carbon fibre bars and seatpost. It is old but pretty light and high end specs.

What would be a suggested fork to buy? I want to keep it in line with the quality of the bike, but I am on a budget, so I don't want to blow the bank.

If I had to choose I would value light weight over length of travel.

    Any suggestions appreciated.

You want 80mm as the frame really was ideally setup for an 80mm fork, there might even have been a warning about putting longer travel forks on frames as late as 2001 (I have a 2000 Vertex frame hanging in the closet). An 80mm SID Race, or maybe a used Fox F80 would be a good match.
