Forge Sawback 5xx or Jamis Cross Country 2.0?

I have a buddy who is selling his 2007 Jamis Cross Country 2.0 for $325.00 and I have considered buying it, however a new bike has been brought to my attention for the same exact price and it seems to be a big hit considering its components and its price. People seem to be dumbfounded at what this bike comes with for the money and that it can be bought at TARGET.

What is your take on this? Forge Sawback 5xx or the used Jamis?
Forge1 [fawrj, fohrj] to form by heating and hammering; beat into shape.

You can't buy a Forge at a Target store. They are sold through target.com and are shipped direct from Forge. Service is provided by Forge, too - except returns/exchanges.

Most people say that 09 prices have increased around 20% at bike shops. The Forge has not increased (yet?) and many find a 10% discount code.

Fwiw, I looked at the Jamis bikes last year (along with many others) and believe I made a good decision in getting the Forge. YMMV.
