New question here. Down tube union to BB

Is there a functional reason why some newer mtb's down tubes are making a curve before joining the bottom bracket or is it just esthetic?

i'm not a frame builder but my guess is shorter wheelbase and typically more weld is a stronger joint

    Down tube union to BB

If you are talking about this style of bike. I was told it allows a lower top tube then a comparable sized 29" bike. My memory says it was like a whole inch more room then a regular diamond style frame.

That's allways been an issue with 29's, it's the stand over.
