    dent in downtube

Ok, I went for a ride yesterday and when cleaning up after, I found a dent, 99.9% sure, it was from a rock from the front where about 3-4 inches up the downtube from the bottom bracket.
It is about the size of a dime.
Can I continue to use this for the season or should I start to look for a new frame. It is a 2006 Jekyll, if someone has any suggestions for a replacement.

That's a nice frame, in general any imperfection dent/ding including cracks would lead to frame failure sooner. I owned a Jekyll and had a dent on the top tube i was too lazy to do anything about it. I rode that for another 3 years mostly XC with no problems, YMMV.

The only thing that broke on that bike was the shock mount it's so light after I adjust the geo a few times on one ride it just crack, C'dale replace it for me no problem.

Keep an eye on it, but I'd still ride it. Downtubes get dents, it happens. Cracks, missing paint, something that looks like it was hit by a baseball bat, that's a different story, but a rock dent wouldn't trouble me.

Thanks all, that is what I was thinking but just wanted a little re-assurance.

+1 for should be fine. I have a dime+ size one ~3" up from BB shell on one of my 29er's. Been riding it for more than a year and thus far no progression into anything worth worrying about.
