    Custom hydraulic disc brake mounts

Hey everyone, I had an idea about converting from v-brake to disc, and I came to the problem. There is no mounting tabs for disc brakes, so I think I could do it myself! ( rear disc brake adapter )
I saw a video, how the guy restorated his KONA ( KONA RESTORATION - YouTube ), and thought about doing it by myself for like 3 dollars. But I just need the right measurements.
So I drew that peas of metal on paper, so you could get the idea about what I am talking about.

    Thanks.

You can buy that mount you've drawn up from all the tubing suppliers for dirt cheap.

Your problem is going to be attaching it.

If you've got a steel frame you can get it welded or brazed.

If you've got aluminum you're gonna wreck the heat treating b/c welding.

JSYN, I know a guy who glued a disc mount to a Girvin fork.

It was placed in a way that braking would press the brake mount up against the back of the fork leg.

The guy has a friend that's an engineer and works for Com Dev.

They make satellites and have access to aerospace grade glues.

Said engineer kinda helped out just a wee bit!

What do you mean by "gonna wreck the heat treating". Could you tell me a bit detailed please?
