    New question here. Conejo AP5

I just picked up a Conejo AP 5 at a police sale for $150. It was one of those buy it or the guy behind me gets it (impulse buy?) Anyway I believe it is a 1996. Appears well taken care of and appears to have all the original parts. The front and rear shocks need replacing, everything else is in great shape. My fear is that it is not worth replacing those for the cost. I have never riden a full suspension bike but could use a new ride. Any thoughts or comments would be much appreciated.

It sound like you bought a piece of mountain bike history. The front fork can probably be replaced. The rear shock who knows? You might post this up in the Vintage-Classic forum. I am kind of surprised the bidding went to $150. However for collectors it might be worth more.

    borregokid,
thanks for the response. I took the bike to my LBS and he thought I got one hell of a deal. said the brakes were worth it alone. Anyway he got the rear shock working, I guess I wasnt putting the air in correctly. Told me to ride it and see how I like it before putting any money in it, said $300 and it would be a sweet ride. I may still post to the vintage and see what they say. LBS comes through again!
