Best Full Suspension All Mountain Bike for about $1000

Im a newbie and looking to send about $1000+- for a full suspension bike. Riding will be all mountain/trails. Something comfortable and durable. I dont mind an 2008 model or even a used one if I can find in excellent condition. As long is its great bike.

I was thinking inline of GT Force 3.0 or the Mongoose Teocali Comp. Are any of these good? The GT Force a a few hundred more than the Teocali...is it worth it?

For what you want to spend look at used, you won't find a good new FS all mountain bike for under $1500.

The Sette Ace from Pricepoint at $999 is pretty attractive plus its nearby for you in Gardena, Ca. I think its a better deal than the Teocali or the GT. I think the price of both of those bikes with the current sale going on is around $1100 at performance. Of the two I would probably go for the Teocali just based on what I have read and have seen out on the trail. The downside on the all-mountain bikes that are under $1500 is that they get heavy and the shocks arent quite as nice.

If you really know what you are doing you could check out some used bikes. For example heres a Stumpjumper with 5" of travel that at around $1000 might be attractive.

Also an Enduro with a Fox Talas Fork in the same price range.

Wrong Sette Ace has the same Caliber parts as 2300 dollar bikes and only costs $999.99

or look at the Sette Flite . It's more 'AM' than the Ace.

I know about the Sette Ace, the OP wanted an all mountain bike, the Ace is an XC bike.

The Ace Flite would work, it's more toward AM. It's $1199 though, a little over budget. Here's a link http://www.pricepoint.com/detail/187...onarch-3.1.htm

Might want to check out Ibex also, they're bikes are discounted pretty cheap as well. Here's a link to the Ibex all mountain http://www.ibexbikes.com/Stacks/Series_Ignition.html
They have one for $699, not sure how good it is though, but that's a great price.

As for my first comment, looks like you can find a decent AM FS bike for around $1000. Just goes to show what a little research will do and great sales.
