Beginner Looking for Some Advice on a Purchase

Looking at buying my first full suspension bike, I just got into riding this last spring but I have gotten REALLY into it. Saw this on craigslist, and haven't contacted the guy yet. It's a Giant NRS3, with Front Rock Shox, a rear Pilot SL shock, and has upgraded hubs for disk brakes. He's asking $300. I was wondering if someone out there could tell me what year this was? I was planning on saving up from my summer internship and getting something along the lines of a new Giant Trance from my LBS, but if this turns out to be a great deal, I might do this instead. Let me know what you more-experienced folk would do, it's four hours away but if I'm told it's worth it, I might go get it. Thanks in advance guys.

P.S. I'm still learning all the lingo MTB riders use, and not fully educated on high quality components, (some) bike parts, etc. But willing to learn so I may ask questions. Thanks again!

I would ride the bike you have now and learn on it some more. The above bike may be a good ride but not getting it now accomplishes 2 things:
1 - Saving up for a new Giant Trance
    2 - Sharpening your skills

If you go this route, I guarantee you will appreciate the new ride SO MUCH MORE.
