This bike is just for my dad, who won't ride it aggressively, mabye just recreational trails.
I just want him to have something safe instead of riding on walmart bikes all the time.

With the 30% off coupon, I could get this for 400$ shipped...

    Any thoughts?

its a very decent bike. One person from my riding group has one. Its pretty light and will be fine for what you have described. The one thing that is more important is, the size. make sure the bike fits your dad. if the bike does not fit, no matter how great the bike is.

Also, Sierratradingpost.com has a great reputation interms of returns. I buy almost all my outdoors stuff from them. never had a problem.

Back to the bike, scott makes some great bikes. I like their Scale hardtail line a lot....

    best.

    2006 Scott Scale 70

    I own a Scale 70:
I hope you got the bike. Mine has turned to be a great bike. It was my first one and has never failed.
If you're still around, I'd like to hear your thoughts regarding your Scale 70.
