Have a 90's Specialized Hardrock GX 19 bike that my dad gave me. He's bought it brand new back in the 90s, and a couple years ago put some upgrades on it, but very rarely rode it. Just wanted to get an idea on what kind of upgrades I should do to it? Mainly want to use this for long off-road rides, but not super rough terrain.
Specialized Hardrock GX 19 frame
SRAM Attack shifters
Shimano Altus caliper brakes
Sakae XR100 crank system
519 Weinmann 26x1.50/599 wheels
Shimano SIS Direct Drive system
Serfas Drifter 26x2.0 tires
XLC Flat bars
Definitely wanting to put a new saddle on along with new pedals with toe cages. Probably a new stem and bars as well, really want drop bars on it but don't know if thats a good idea? Im a novice so don't know the quality of any of this stuff really, just have done research and know that these companies do make good components, but don't know if these are them. Again just want some input and feedback on what would be best to do with this awesome bike.
