2009 Cannondale Perp 3 build up

Hey guys, I picked up a Perp frame that I am going to try to make into a decent (budget) riding bike for when I want something that can go downhill and take a beating, but I also would like to build it up a bit light so I can ride it on just about any of the trails at South Mountain if need be and still enjoy myself. Any tips/ part suggestions and certainly if you have some parts laying around that you could sell for pretty cheap it would be GREATLY appreciated!! I will post pics as I am able, right now I am trying to decide if I should have this thing powder coated while it's an easy task!

    Thanks in advance guys!

Its gonna be hard to build that up light, it was 41 pounds as supplied built up. Light = big money so not really achievable on the cheap. Pretty bomb proof and fun though. Good luck with the build, lets see piccys.

Ha Ha... yup... I should clarify.. i meant reasonably light for a Perp!! I really don't need a light bike by any means, I just mean I don't want to add a bunch of un-needed weight! I weigh about 235 and am about 6'2" I would like to save weight were I can though!
Thanks. I am also trying to build up my post count... apparently I can't add pics until I reach 10!! LOL One more to go!

Picture of the frame, I really am excited about this bike, I have been wanting one of these for a long, long time and I can't wait to ride it!

    OP..
Did you ever finish the Perp build? What did it end up weighing?
