2000 Trek 4500 vs new Diamondback Sorrento

I may have the chance to trade a new Sorrento for the 4500 if it's the right size.

Would this be a good idea? I have no idea how the older components would compare.

If the DB is new, just return it if you want a mountain bike. Otherwise, the 4500 is way, way old and probably only worth $50. I'd sell the DB if I couldn't return it. Don't make this trade.

I agree. Terrible trade. If you want an old low end mountain bike, there are tons for cheap on Craigslist or your local thrift shop.
