'04 Stumpy Pro HT or '05 Epic Comp Disc?

Need a little help deciding. I just bought an '04 hardtail Stumpjumper Pro for $1600. The shop just got in a '05 Epic Comp Disc with Juicy 5 brakes. I can have it for $2150 and return the HT I haven't ridden yet. I like the components on the Pro better (All XT/XTR, new XT crank and shifters etc) but the Epic has a Fox fork, disc brakes and the obvious rear suspension. I ride mostly singletrack in Michigan so there aren't any "real" mountains. Let me know what you think, thanks.

I ride almost that exact Epic setup (Fox Float shocks, Avid brakes, etc.), except it is the 2004 model. I really like this bike for XC. The front shock and disc brakes are both sweet. It is especially good on climbs and for longish (20-25 mile) rides. Back shock sometimes feels a bit "stiff", but this is adjustable.

I paid $1800 for mine, but I'm not sure I would go over $2000 for this model. I guess it is an OKAY deal (but not much difference between 2004 and 2005 modles, AFAIK). I would definitely prefer it over a plain HT.

The XT/XTR components are definitely a plus. I have thought about upgrading mine...

Can you ride it around a bit before buying?
