04 Stumpjumper FSR Elite Disc Vs Prophet 600

I'm going to buy a new bike but I'm not sure what bike to get. I'm between the new cannondale prophet 600 or the 2004 specialized stumpjumper fsr elite disc. Which one has the best overall rating, etc etc

Personaly I dont like the ride of single pivot bikes so I would say get the stumpjumper My girlfriend has new 04 and I have ridden and love it. I could say nothing negative about it.

The Stumpjumper is a tried and true design with very high ratings and reviews. The Prophet is a new bike that is getting good reviews thus far, but has not proven itself yet IMO. Both are entry level models with cheaper components. I would say both are fairly equal as far as components, with the Stumpjumper having more universal components and Cannondale having more specialized components specific to Cannondale bikes. ie Lefty shock, pedals etc.

Ride both bikes and make a decision based on comfort and value.
