04 Kona Stinky for $500?... good deal?

I'm 16 and already a lot into xc/am mountain biking. I've never done dh park but I really want to try it, however the rentals are VERY expensive. Should I go for a used 04 Kona Stinky for $500?

A bike like that can easily be ruined in a season.. Id be extremely reluctant to buy a 7 year old freeride/dh bike.

I concur. Aluminum frames will experience stress fatigue with time, and if it gets ridden hard enough that fatigued area will crack. I know from experience. I bought a used 02 Giant AC Air Lite off this guy a couple years ago, and rode it hard for a good 2-3 months. Suddenly on a moderate descent I hucked it from a flat to downhill transition and when I landed the back end just sank. I got off the bike and the chainstay was broken in half. Long story short I had no warranty so I was **** outta luck!!
