Went for my first ride today

I rode for the first time today since I was a kid. I rode a Niner MCR 9 and loved every minute of it. I will be buying it from a friend soon and will be riding a lot more. Rode roughly 4 miles today on my local single track trails.

It easy to get carried away after not being on a bike awhile. Hence the helmet comment

Since I hadn't rode in a while, I can't really compare it to any modern bikes. But it seemed to roll smoothly over everything in my path. The local track has lots of roots and they were no problem.

I have been thinking about an entry level 9er. Everybody seems to like them. Have fun on the trails.

congrats. I too just returned after a six year absence and I am enjoying it immensely. Expensive sport for me to pick up again because I literally didnt have anything but its worth it none the less.

I can't seem to find an inexpensive hobby, everything I do is ridiculous.

I feel you man. My cell phone addiction is even worse than this, plus I have a constant need to upgrade my computer and my obsession with cars isnt good either.

Bought the bike late last week and have rode twice. I really enjoy it, just not the 108 degree temps lately.

Awesome! I remember the first time I rode a MTB I felt like a 12yo on his BMX.

Good stuff that only gets better...

lol me to I had the sudden urge to buy a 2011 17" Macbook pro. because I felt I needed to biggest and baddest laptop on campus ( I know I'm a ******). And it doesn't stop there I have a really bad watch and car habit I had before I even got in to biking, but my cannondale was the best 800 bucks I have ever spent.

Congrats ! I know how you feel my wife and I went on our 1st ride this past weekend. We have had our bikes since Feb.and had big plans but she slipped on some ice in March and had to have knee surgery. She finally got approval from PT to ride so we've gone out a couple of times this week so far. Have only ridden about 20 miles total but still alot of fun. I now remember why I loved riding (albeit rode) so much as a teenager / young adult (almost 46 now) and regret ever giving it up.
