    Squeaky brakes

I have a new 2013 Giant trance x1 29er. I have has it for almost 3 weeks and my front brake squeals like crazy wince my first ride especially while going down hill. Since thus is a new bike should I bring it in to the lbs for service or do I need to live with the squeaks?

Avid brakes are known to squeak ,did you bed in brakes? You could have got something on them ,try cleaning the pads and rotor use rubbing alcohol.

    Re: Squeaky brakes

My Hardrock disc brakes started squealing after more than 50 miles of riding it. It turned out it just needed adjustments.

Have your lbs check it for adjustments.
What works for me may not work for you. What's best for you depends on many factors. We are different from each other.

Take it in now and start the documentation process for these defective brakes. Take it back every time until they keep it fixed or offer to replace it. Then go SLX.
