    Rear Suspension Help!

I was wanting to upgrade my rear shock to something with a lockout. the rear air i have now is just a basic factory shock with no lockout. i was looking at the rock shox ario r. if i was to get this shock for my bike, would i have to also upgrade the front fork? the front fork is also stock. it is a sr suntour 100mm with lockout. id appreciate all helpful comments!

Personally I would not up grade the shock on the Yukon fx especially to a RS ario r, I may consider Fox float RL. Then it's the question of why? Yukon does not have a noticeable bob while pedaling unless you stump on it.

Do you ride a lot on paved road? What improvement do you like to see beside lock out?

A few months ago I picked up a Manitou minute with the absolute internal from CRC for $200, keep and eye out for good deals it would come around. I think that's about what you want to do with that bike. Wait until the shock crap out then replace it. Do you know what's the eye-to-eye and stroke on that bike? is it 6.5"x1.5"? I hope it's not a weird size. You can also check on eBay for some cheap fox rl.

It's also a good idea to check with Giant or Giant dealer what option do you have as far as shock option are concern, you may need a mounting kit if you go with any other shock, ya everything cost more money.
