    Quick Release for wheel

Hi, Newbe here. I wanted to know if anyone can give me any details on what quick release setup I need to add to my front wheel? Right now its a bolt on axel with a 26" wheel.

I have a RoadMaster Granite Peak MB.

    Thanks

Go to a shop with the wheel ,they will be able to tell if you can do it. You could replace the wheel for fairly cheep.Check ebay,Craigslist.

    Hi thanks for the reply.

Do you happen to know on average the price it would cost for a bike shop to do it?

Compared to how much it would cost for me to do it myself?

    Quick release skewers are universal.

I'd expect the conversion to run you around $60. You need a couple parts and the labor is a bit fiddly.

It might be impossible, but usually the threaded rod is a common enough size to be swapped.

You can get a new wheel for a lot less. Or just carry the appropriate wrench in your flat kit.

Some department store bikes have stamped fork dropouts that are too narrow for QR axles.
