anyone know something about quad brakes? someone wants to sell me a pair, together with discs, and teflon cables. if i remember corectly, the name on the caliper was "quad deuce 3.1". the guy wants 100$ for them.
pls tell me if it's a bargain, or should i stay away?

Quad is a small british company. They make the brakes, and although there is little information on them, especially the brake in question, all of the few signs seem to point to "work okay, looks nice, cheap". But be aware that it's going to be a bit hard (and likely expensive) finding parts (Such as pads) for these brakes as the company is rather small in the bike industry and they don't seem to have a website either. I'd personally stay away because of that and instead buy something from a more well-known company such as Shimano, Hayes, or Avid.
