    In need of new tires

I will be in the market for new tires for my 03 Gary Fisher Tarpon. Currently I have Bontrager Connection tires. They are 26 x 1.95. I know the 26 is rim size but what is the 1.95 and can I change that to say a 2.0? What would be a good replacement for them? I mostly ride pavement with the occasional trail on the weekend. Also due to my fiance, they have to be inexpensive. Probably not more then $20-$30 a tire.

    Thanks in advance!

20 or 30 dollars a tire is a very good starting point. Have a look at the Hutchinson Pirahna.

The 1.95 is the width of the tire. You will have no problems going to a 2.0 or 2.1.
When under pressure, your level of performance will sink to your level of preparation.

Are Hutchinson good? How to they compare to Bontrager or Kenda?
