1. The most important thing about buying a new bike is to make sure it fits. The only way you'll know if the bike is right for you is to size up the bike and make sure that the bike's geometry matches your body's geometry. Ask questions and do some research.

2. If possible, try to find a shop that will let you demo the bike on real dirt. Five minutes in a parking lot won't cut it. You wouldn't buy a car without a real world test drive, and a bike should be no different.
3. Don't belive the hype. Just because your favorite rider or best friend rides a certain bike, that doesn't mean that's the best one for you. Have an open mind and be realistic about your needs and ability.

    Messed up my Thru Axle

I left it (from Fox 32 F120rl) on my bumper while loading my Trance X2 into my Jeep before heading to the Trail of Tears on Cape Cod. It fell off, but I actually found it later, however it had been run over and the threads took a beating. My LBS doesn't have it, and wasn't sure of cost or shipping time frame. Any suggestions for online dealers who would have it? Any idea how much? A Google search and a Fox website search didn't turn up much. I feel about ready to explode right now. I'm seeing the rest summer pass me by, and I've only had the bike since early June. In the meantime, I'm going to see if a machine shop could re-thread it for me. I cross posted this in the fork section, but didn't receive much info other than 1 retailer that had a 2011 part for $90. Any ideas?
