1. The most important thing about buying a new bike is to make sure it fits. The only way you'll know if the bike is right for you is to size up the bike and make sure that the bike's geometry matches your body's geometry. Ask questions and do some research.

2. If possible, try to find a shop that will let you demo the bike on real dirt. Five minutes in a parking lot won't cut it. You wouldn't buy a car without a real world test drive, and a bike should be no different.
3. Don't belive the hype. Just because your favorite rider or best friend rides a certain bike, that doesn't mean that's the best one for you. Have an open mind and be realistic about your needs and ability.

Help me buy my new bike

Hello, I'm 24, I live in Quebec, Canada and I think this is the time for me too buy a new bike.

What is the best deal between these bikes?

    Devinci Camelon 4 http://www.devinci.com/bikes/browse#3_18_44

    Rocky Mountain Trailhead http://www.bikes.com/main+en+01_102+...ID=1&SCATID=18

Any others Rocky Mountain, Devinci, Norco, Specialized, Giant (Bikes at my locals bikes shops) under 1500$ better than those two I was looking at?

Of the two the Devinci has the better for and IMO the SRAM drivetrain is also nicer. It's a shame neither bike appears to have clipless pedals.

You should check out the Giant XTC 0 also - it's better specced than either of those too for a bit over $1500 RRP. You might pick one up for less.

Not many companies can beat Giant for bang for the buck.
    Less isn't MOAR
