Good Deal? - One of those threads

    2005 Kona Dawg Primo - $1000
2005 Kona Dawg Primo 19" (Lg.) Full Suspension mountain bike. Fox fork, Fox rear suspension. XT/XTR components. Converted to tubeless. Tires nearly new. Does have some issues to fix: shifter cable, grips, saddle. I kept the saddle for my new bike. The grips are old, and have gotten sticky. I planned to replace with Oury grips, but got a whole new bike. The shifting cable is a little short to the rear, so it has some ghost shifting issues.

I currenty ride a Gt Avalanche with x9/Man R7/Magura Louise
I would like to get a FS, but I will be buying used and I will not spend over 1k. There are surprisingly several options out there around that in the used market. Just wanted to get some opinions on what is thought about this?
I ride anything from light xc to as agressive "XC" as I can find in North TX. Is this a good bike for that? Obv. for the light xc I can always use my GT. I just want something a bit more fun for the rougher stuff. I have no trouble replacing the RD cable, have an extra saddle and grips, so that stuff is no prob.
Will I find a better option at that price point? And will this bike climb worth anything?
