1. The most important thing about buying a new bike is to make sure it fits. The only way you'll know if the bike is right for you is to size up the bike and make sure that the bike's geometry matches your body's geometry. Ask questions and do some research.

2. If possible, try to find a shop that will let you demo the bike on real dirt. Five minutes in a parking lot won't cut it. You wouldn't buy a car without a real world test drive, and a bike should be no different.
3. Don't belive the hype. Just because your favorite rider or best friend rides a certain bike, that doesn't mean that's the best one for you. Have an open mind and be realistic about your needs and ability.

Gave the new ride a bath

All shiny and clean. Can' wait to get it dirty again. Wasn't really that dirty to begin with. I don't know about you guys but I enjoy cleaning my bikes. Not as much as riding them, but still find it a good time.

Hey dstruct, I'm gonna drop my bike off at your house for a good cleaning. Make sure to degrease the chain. It is getting pretty gunky.

    Thanks!

gray, bring over a 12er and i'll clean it up.
this bike is on here because i'm a beginner and that is my bike.
i just wipe it down with baby wipes and blow all the sand and dirt out of pivot points, brakes ect. with some compressed air.

I need to wash my bike really bad. She's been a dirty girl here lately.
I don't use Strava. Don't need an application to tell me I am slow because I already know.

    looks good.
When under pressure, your level of performance will sink to your level of preparation.
