    fork steerer tube measurement

sorry stupid question. is there a way to check the fork's steerer tube's size without removing it from the frame? can i just measure the part where it is connected to the fork crown(?) planning to buy a new headset but not sure if i need a reducer headset or a 1.5 headset (my frame has a 1.5 headtube).

    thanks in advance!

Maybe, unless it is a tapered steerer. Best to check both at the crown and by removing the top cap above the stem (as long as the stem stays tight it won't affect your headset adjustment).

I don't think it is a tapered steerer, its a 2007 marz 66 rc2x (i think they both came at 1 1/8 and 1.5). thanks for the advise!

If you don't wanna get your hands dirty you could check manufacturer's or bikepedia's website for specs
