1. The most important thing about buying a new bike is to make sure it fits. The only way you'll know if the bike is right for you is to size up the bike and make sure that the bike's geometry matches your body's geometry. Ask questions and do some research.

2. If possible, try to find a shop that will let you demo the bike on real dirt. Five minutes in a parking lot won't cut it. You wouldn't buy a car without a real world test drive, and a bike should be no different.
3. Don't belive the hype. Just because your favorite rider or best friend rides a certain bike, that doesn't mean that's the best one for you. Have an open mind and be realistic about your needs and ability.

    Deity compound pedals??

I'm looking for some light weight pedals for my Rockhopper and i came across these Deity compound pedals the reviews seem to be decent ,but im wondering if anyone else knows more about them. I do know that they are some kind of plastic which is fine to me cause my riding is not that aggressive yet. any help will be much appreciated

They look nice and Deity makes good stuff. I say go for it if they're what you want.
All of the true things I'm about to tell you are shameless lies.

They look nice. Unlike most cheap plastic pedals they have replaceable cromo pins which should get the job done. Super thin and low profile, it should be pretty good. I know other deity pedals are highly regarded (deity in general), I don't see why these wouldn't be.

I am mostly likely going to get these as well. The specs are impressive for a plastic-type pedal.

What's the status? I'm thinking about getting 2 pair. You ordered through Deity's site right? How much was shipping?

Just tried this as I am in need of pedals as well. The pedals were $48 and shipping was almost $9.
