1. The most important thing about buying a new bike is to make sure it fits. The only way you'll know if the bike is right for you is to size up the bike and make sure that the bike's geometry matches your body's geometry. Ask questions and do some research.

2. If possible, try to find a shop that will let you demo the bike on real dirt. Five minutes in a parking lot won't cut it. You wouldn't buy a car without a real world test drive, and a bike should be no different.
3. Don't belive the hype. Just because your favorite rider or best friend rides a certain bike, that doesn't mean that's the best one for you. Have an open mind and be realistic about your needs and ability.

Not bad $250 sounds about right! Good job!! Looks to be an early 00's model by the specs by looking @ the frame tubes and components actually an '04 to be exact!

pretty good deal I'd say... I was just at the LBS and the cheapest new rockhopper is like $650 without disc brakes.

So depending on how similar the 2010 is to your 2004... I'd say its a good deal.

I'd agree, seems like a good deal, definitely a decent backup bike. Nice.

Good score...now ride it like you stole it and start dropping pounds. The right bike will compel you to ride it every chance you get.

.but he did steal it That bike is AS NEW and the lady didn't know any better, but $450 wasn't asking too much, you got a steal.

    Good buy.

I love how everybody selling bikes on CL always lies about the model year by at least 2 years.
