1. The most important thing about buying a new bike is to make sure it fits. The only way you'll know if the bike is right for you is to size up the bike and make sure that the bike's geometry matches your body's geometry. Ask questions and do some research.

2. If possible, try to find a shop that will let you demo the bike on real dirt. Five minutes in a parking lot won't cut it. You wouldn't buy a car without a real world test drive, and a bike should be no different.
3. Don't belive the hype. Just because your favorite rider or best friend rides a certain bike, that doesn't mean that's the best one for you. Have an open mind and be realistic about your needs and ability.

Cone wrench set - icetoolz ($15) or park ($20)

Should I just pay the difference and get the park wrenches? (I know I should.....but being cheap is a curse at times)

Seriously, is there much of a difference in quality between the icetoolz and park? (both sets of wrenches look pretty cheaply made)

    Tnx!

If your going to be using them daily, as in a shop setting, or want them to last darned near a life time for home use, then go with the Park. If your going to use them at home once or twice a season, then the Ice tools will be fine. It's not how they're made, both sets are stamped steel, it's what they're made of. The Park wrenches are noticeably harder steel so they last longer when it comes to a daily use setting. We can get 2 to 3 years use out of a set of Park cone wrenches at the shop, more on the less common sizes. With the cheaper brands we've tried we're lucky to get a year out of them. It all depends on how much you intend to use them. That's the whole idea behind Park Tools, they're shop quality and built to last. Of course you pay extra for that durability. It's all in what you need.

Thanks Squash!! Ordered the Park. 30% more but lasts 2x - 3x more durable...sounds like a winner.
