I've got an Ouzo Pro carbon fork and stem. I don't need it and wish to sell it. But it has a steel star nut. This fork was given to me (need I say more?). The nut is rather high on the stem. The stem measures 230mm and the nut is at 10mm in from the top. First of all, who would put a star nut in a carbon fork? This fork is a few years old. Did manufacturers ever put steel star nuts in their stems?
Can I remove the nut and the entire stem will be fine?
Get the stem cut just below the nut, thus removing the nut, and still have enough stem length to appeal to a potential buyer?
