Second actually, but I haven't ridden in 6 years and wanted to try a 29er. Unfortunately i'm pretty short and don't fit them very well (no standover clearance). I think maybe a 650b would be a better choice..
Looking for a new bike is so much fun! I like to know the answers to these questions (and more!) before I settle on a bike. Hopefully they will help you too: What are your friends riding? What are people riding on the trails you're going to be riding? What are you hoping MTB riding will do for you? Do you have proper safety gear already? Do you have a way to transport the bike to the trails? How much time do you plan on devoting to the hobby?
I'm sure the 650B's are awesome. Just a heads up getting parts, tires, wheelsets, etc for them may be difficult because they are so new. I'm sure in the near future (2years or so) there will be more available. Just something to consider on the new bike choice. Have fun shopping
