Any alcoholic beverage is high calorie, and they're useless calories as well so they all can potentially contribute to weight gain. Beer goes well with the sort of food I enjoy and is made from simple, natural ingredients. All things in moderation, as they say, and the pleasures of life can be enjoyed without serious repercussions. Plus, I just enjoy good (microbrewed) beer. It's refreshing, tasty and fun. I don't drink to get drunk, like your stereotypical "frat boy"--one or two beers are plenty. I also like dark chocolate, which is also high calorie but in many ways also good for you in moderation. And coffee-I sure enjoy coffee. Cripes, I'm a veritable mass of vices!

    Beer? I definitely prefer crack.
I was never very athletic, academic, or handsome - so I rode bikes.

No you don't. I don't recommend drugs in general. Good example below.

I will comment however that I like Natural Ice and Heineken. I know it's boring but everyone is different.

Why do they never have ice beer on tap at bars? Or am I wrong?

I worked with a guy who would ride 60-70 miles + on his days off. But he would also out drink me 4:1 - which makes him an avid alcoholic. Sometimes I think he drank to ride and rode to drink.

Anyway.. If you could describe to me a beverage as fulfilling as hoppy, mouth tingling, refreshing, crisp, citrusy, did I mention hoppy, stress killing, world revealing India Pale Ale - then I might give it a try and send the beer back to the store....

World revealing? I think you need to try psychedelics. IPA is overrated but taste is subjective I suppose.

Well let's see General Harold. Or do you prefer Harold of the Rocks?

Just had some stale red wine which sucked. Then had a crappy self-made margarita. Now having a perfect Heineken. Just for you and the frat boys. But I do prefer that Naked mango juice I had a couple hours ago. And my all time favorite? Diet Mountain Dew. Yes with the flame retardant which is illegal in other countries but legal in the glorious USA. Enjoy troll control.

    Yes to all the fluids!

I prefer liquor because it's quicker. Just something tasty to relax me.

I typically drink beer after some runs. Extra calories don't hurt.

I'll take either. Typically drink beer after a hard run or socializing with beer diehards.

    I still prefer liquor.

I joined a beer club recently though to explore the variety in the area.

Some of you like $3,000 full suspension bikes and Natty Ice... I prefer $3,000 beer and $100 bikes

Although, I am at a crossroads - had I saved all the $$ I have spent on beer in the last year - I could easily afford an Entry Level Santa Cruz.. Instead, I drink good beer and good scotch and am getting ready to buy an Entry Level Airborne.

You drink 1-2 good beers, then follow up with the natty ice. your mouth, stomach and brain won't know the difference.

I still contend that beer doesn't taste "good". I would prefer to drink the Naked Mango smoothie juice.

Beer seems to "feel" good when it's very hot outside.

But don't forget, I have a bad reputation. lol

Until you have tried every style out there you may want to with-hold making such broad statements. The flavor profiles you can try cover such a wide gamut.

Have you Ever had any of the following Styles:

    GOSE
    Gueuze
    Flanders

Those three styles right there have the ability to produces dozens of flavors depending on the recipe and aging, etc.

And you're probably correct. But it all tastes like shit compared to juice.

why can't the slogan be: "bike and long islands"?

I don't drink beer, but you need to go for a ride and relax a bit.
