Right now, a 22 ouncer of Stone Brewing’s 15 Escondidan Imperial Black IPA. Amazing stuff, seriously delicious, and as expected the 10.8% ABV ensures a lift of one’s spirits.

Right now I am enjoying a 22 ounce bottle (poured in my trusty MTBR pint glass) of Schmaltz Brewing’s Jewbelation 15 15th Anniversary Ale—15 malts, 15 hops, and 15% ABV. Loopy stuff for sure.

I was fortunate enough to find that on tap, so I could try a 5oz sample rather than the 22oz bomber. Props to them for getting to 15%, but it was a little much for me. Maybe it just needed to open up a little, but I couldn't taste a thing.

I'm living in Japan, so I have to make do with the local produce, Asahi, Sapporo, Suntory... Foreign beers come at a premium, but we do get Hoegaarden, Leffe and Guinness at some of the supermarkets.

Recently been drinking the Seven Eleven and Suntory collaboration beer called "The Brew"

Yeah man, more ABV is not always better. I thought it was a hot mess myself.

just had a bottle of Stockyard Oatmeal Stout...

nothing spectacular about this one - but on the other hand this was emminently drinkable...

sometimes a pleasant brew that only aspires to be enjoyed with a burger is under appreciated - but I'll give it 3 smiley faces :) :) :)

OK, I'm posting this at 8:00 am PST - but I did not just drink this for breakfast! (didn't get around to posting last night). Beer, it's not just for breakfast anymore!

A nice write up on Beer Advocate on this one...

Yea, I don't know if you mean the label, or the dense black impenetrable inky darkness of the pour...

But only 4% ABV, so almost like Coors Light, right????

Unlike some that go in the 9% and higher range...

Of course, some people equate Stouts and Porters to a handful of dirt thrown into a glass of motor oil topped off with a generous squirt of donkey piss... but I say Mother's Milk my friend, Mother's Milk...

Had a SA latitude 48 IPA, not to big a fan of IPA, but it was really good. Paired very nicely with Thai chicken Pizza.
