Have you any idea about the diuretic agent used in the production of mass-produced beers such as Budweiser? Diuretics aren’t particularly good for the kidneys and bladder, and heavy drinking of “manufactured” beers (Budweiser, Coors, Miller, etc… list goes on) leads to a lot of health problems that a person associates with alcoholism-induced “diseases”. Please, for the love of your own body—please—try and steer away from that stuff. Don’t get me started about the low quality aspect of the ingredients that goes into that stuff also. Those popular manufactured U.S. beers have craploads of money—all they do is pump the money into marketing campaigns rather than the ingredients and brewing process—the end result is clever marketing campaigns that enthrall the television viewer who is subliminally sucked into buying the product.

Sorry for the rant, I just think that people should look beyond the marketing aspect and find out what’s really in the swill they are consuming which is helping them slowly kill themselves. Ever wonder why people in the Czech Republic (highest consumption of beer in the world per annum) don’t die of cirrhosis and other chronic health issues? They don’t brew with the additives/filler/fluff/chemicals that the big-name breweries here in the U.S. use.

Sorry, I ranted again. I am done now.

Meanwhile, I am enjoying an ethically-aware-brewed Drake’s Brewing Drakonic Imperial Stout right now. Delicious stuff, and a nice 8.75% ABV helps the creativity flow from my brain down to the keyboard on my computer, unleashing untold volumes of splendiferous ponderings upon teh intarwebs. :o

    TRUTH!!!!!!!

Shit like bud, coors light, Miller, or whatever I do not consider as *real* beer as that is not how beer was made before mass production stripped down peeee like that...

I LOVE it when i get people on real beer and they can no longer drink the likes of "bud" because they discovered what is real.

Btw i am typing this from the bar of a brewery so my post *might* be biased.....

oh The other reason why u should drink and support real beer and especially breweries is because they are small and local...which makes them cool.

and for other reasons like this:

I started the evening with Stone Levitation which is smooth but nice and hoppy with crisp finish. I've since switched to Rogue Brutal IPA which is seriously lovely. Just hoppy enough to start to let you know it is indeed an India Pale Ale, but but finishes so silky and sweet and fruity that you might think you're downing a lambic!
