    Wink What a day!

So... sometimes really cool stuff happens totally out of the blue.

[coolstorybro] As I was walking into my office this morning a guy who I worked with on a project back over summer stopped me and asked if I wanted a bottle of beer. I said sure (never being one to say no to beer, especially free beer). So he reaches in his backpack and pulls out a plain brown without a label on it. I looked at it for a moment, then I looked at the bottle cap and it read...Trappist Westvleteren 12 (XII)!!! Whoah! This is a world class beer which is arguably -THE- Holy Grail of beer. Monks produce only 160,000 cases of Westvleteren 12 per year. The small production volume for a #1 rated beer in the world make it both very hard to find and very expensive.

I guess I yapped about it so much when I got home that my wife sent me a link to the Westvleteren Abby's website and told me to call in an order to be picked up at the end of March. I was confused; the Abby is a 6.6 hr drive from where we live in Germany and a trip to Belgium wasn't on my radar - but my wife said she had planned a 5 day trip for us for my birthday.

    Damn.. what a day!

    WHAT A DAY!

Pretty ironic that happened on the same day. It's your destiny!

I am now obligated to use quotes whenever I refer to my own "cellar".

Yeah, the house was built in 1463. Here's a shot of our neighborhood:

    Very cool gift!
I saw your cellar pics over on BA, very impressive, looks like a beautiful place to be.

    Cheers!

Down to my last two. Luckily, I'm only about an hour away from St Sixtus

I thought my house was old. Mine was built in the 1700s.
