    We continued...
We enjoyed a day of skiing at Sugarbush on Friday. Took a quick look at the map and realized how close we were to The Bobcat brewery in Bristol. We headed over past the old Glen Ellen Ski area (Sugarbush North) and then past Mad River Glenn ski area on the way through the notch and down the mountain to Bristol. What a scenic drive including seeing a rainbow in the waning light! The Bobcat is located right on Main Street in Bristol with plenty of parking out front and nearby, the parking is the old style front in rather than bumper to bumper parking. We sat at the bar and gave a try of the BobCat IPA and the Bobcat Downtown Brown. Both brews were excellent! Given we were quite a ways from Burlington and would be driving in the dark in a snow storm we decided to head out after only 2 beers.

Saturday we skied at Bolton Valley and later headed back to Burlington’s Church Street area for dinner at the Three Tomatoes……we enjoyed a few Switchback Pale Ales and called it a evening.

We got up early on Sunday to head back to Sugarbush for another day of skiing. It had snowed all day and night Saturday so we knew we would be in for a fantastic early season ski day. After a full day of skiing (last run at 4pm…skiing in Alpenglow). We loaded up the Honda and headed over to the Alchemist to sample some Heady Topper as well as pick up some brew special ordered by fellow MTBR’ers. Great trip with a couple new breweries visited.

Last week took my sister and fiancé to the Gardner Ale House in Gardner, MA. Food was good and the beer was excellent. My wife and I shared the beer sampler then ordered our beers. She had a pale ale, I had the Face Lift IPA. Pretty good. second and third round I had their Face-Off Double IPA which was to die for. If you are in north central MA, I would recommend a stop. I did bring back a growler back to GA and enjoyed it for Christmas.

2013 is starting to shape up nicely, allowing for some further travels and brewery visits.
    January: Denver
    May: San Jose and NYC

Will also be visiting a couple new ones here in Asehville area this week. Oskar Blues new location in Brevard and a brand new brewery downtown called Wicked Weed (referring to hops). This one has been generating a lot of buzz (pun intended) and should be a great addition to the lineup.

Visited Helltown Brewing (Mt Pleasant PA) last weekend, and this past Saturday I checked out The All Saints brewery in Greensburg PA. All Saints is practically right in my back yard, I can ride my bike there without even crossing a street. I almost hate to admit this but the All Saints Brewery has been open for over a year and it's less than a mile from where I sit right now and yet Saturday was the first time that I ever stepped foot in the place. Is there something wrong with me??? If you are in the Pittsburgh area I recommend both breweries. Helltown's Idle Hands IPA is really good!

Impressive lists JeffSkisMontana and dobovedo. Can't help but think you guys have to make it out to Minnesota sometime however. There's an impressive upstart of both new and longtime quality brew pubs in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area going on and it makes for some great times on your bikes. Coming from a track/road background, there's always crits that start and end a certain venues as well. But the area with it's lakes and bike friendly biking access makes for a nice, enjoyable ride from place to place with friends as well.

As far as my list, it's extensive. I've hit several on your lists from Colorado. Can't say enough for the Washington and Oregon scene as well. If I ever hit my 10 post limit around here I'll put up some pictures.

Oscar Blues Brewing of Colorado recently opened a new facility in Brevard, NC. We took the tour and visited the tasting room last week. Heard a good blues band. This brewery is large compared to most in the Ashevile area. The Yella Pils I am drinking was purchased by someone else. I much prefer their Old Chub Scotch Ale. The GF liked the Deviant Dale's IPA. Dale's Pale Ale is their flagship brew.

The growler is from Lexington Ave. Brewing, Asheville.

Stopped by Altamont Brewing in West Asheville. They were pouring their golden ale, amber ale, IPA and stout plus a bunch of guest taps. The Grrrrowler we took home was a bit different from the norm. They are made from spent brewing ingredients. My dog loves them.

Back in the BeeHive State.....hit Wasatch...RedRock....and added Squatters.....some fine brew happening in Utah! All three are available in bottles, cans, and growlers in many locations throughout the state. I heard from a few in Park City that most of the volume for Wasatch and Squatters are brewed in Salt Lake City at a larger scale brewery that is done in partnership of some sort.
