Spending a Week in Georgia. Any Can't Miss Local Brews?

    Hey all,

So my team is taking a week long training camp trip down to Georgia. I'm looking to grab some local beers while I'm there to expand my horizons a bit. After all, what are bikes without beers?

I'm a big fan of stouts, porters, etc. I also like me a good saison as well as dubbels and trippels. And hefeweizens.

    Any can't miss local beers?

    What part of Georgia?

Monday Night, Burnt Hickory, Red Brick, Red Hare, Terrapin, Sweetwater, and Jailhouse are all good breweries to check out.

Wrecking Bar, and Brick Store Pub are must do's if you're in downtown ATL. 5 Seasons is a chain brewpub, but has decent beer, and really good food.

We're going to be stationed in Helen. More likely will be picking up bottles at the store or picking from the selection (which was pretty good last year) at the local bar. Probably won't have time to venture out to the breweries. Will probably also buy a six pack or two to take back after the trip.

if you get down to Chicopee, there's a new Growler (Growler on Main) in Flowery Branch about 7 miles south of the trails............nice to get fresh beer even if its not straight from the actual brewer..........not hard to get to, either..........

I've heard that Terrapin can be hard to find. If it's not available where you are, give MooHoo and/or their Wake n Bake.
