I'm really liking the Rye beers.

This is about as far as my experience goes...

10 Barrel's Hop-Rye-it is pretty damn good. They also did this in an Imperial.

Dick's had a Rye that kicked some butt, but I haven't seen it for some time.

Firestone Walker's Wookey Jack has to be my all time favorite brew.

Oakshire Brewing's Line Dry Rye isn't too shabby either.

Double Mountain's Red Rye is very nice. Actually, these guys just rock.

Bear Republic, Deschutes and Stealhead are worth mentioning too.

It looks like there is an endless supply of Rye's out there...Beer Advocate - Rye Beers

My favorite Rye beer is from Schmatlz Hebrew Brewing called R.I.P.A. on Rye, it is a Rye IPA aged in Rya Whiskey Casks.... amazing stuff.

Can you guys explain to me what I should expect from a rye beer? What are the advantages? I've been seeing them more and more, but haven't takent the plunge yet.

If used as a majority of the grist bill; you'll have a light-bodied, crisp, dry, and distinctively spicy bite. Used in conjunction with the right hops, it melds quite well.

I'll second Matt's R.I.P.A suggestion, and add Sierra Nevada's Ruthless Rye, as well as Founder's Red's Rye. Those are fairly common, and readily available, but there are plenty of great rye beers around.

I've been enjoying Bridgeport's Smooth Ryed lately.

    I've yet to try Widmer's O'Ryely IPA

Sour in the Rye from The Bruery is borderline amazing...if you like sours...highly recommend if you have the chance to buy it; in fact, buy two.

On JFryauff's suggestion I got a 6 pack of the Ruthless Rye. I love it. Bold, yet easy-smooth. First Sierra NV beer I've loved in a long time.

10 Barrel's Hop Rye'it has been out for quite awhile now, yet I've avoided it, as I don't care all that much for their beers (or maybe it's their fraternity-like atmosphere).

I finally tried it today, and it is a job well done! Good stuff.
