    Hopslam Ale Release 2013

    Hi All,

Do any of guys have any idea when the 2013 batch of Hopslam Ale will hit the market this month?

I hear a lot of talk about it flying off of the shelves and expensive pricing...but, I live in a college town and everyone here drinks Bud or Bud light and keeps away from craft brewing. I do believe that we have had Hopslam in the past but it doesn't sell out necessarily...at least, I am hoping that is the case.

I think it was $10.00 for a six pack here in Missouri.

I bought a decent amount last year.
It costs a chunk more than $10 for a 6 pack.
Bells normal offerings are in that price range.
If I remember right, the Hopslam was closer to $16.99 a 6 pack.

It is good stuff but not the end of the world if you miss out.
It sells out but is usually not hard to get.

It was just on the bottling line yesterday, so I'd expect it to be end of the month, or early Feb. release. I know we didn't see it here in PA till almost March last year.

Price and availability will depend on area.
We sat on cases for weeks around here, and I was able to get a full case for $65.

Oh I gotcha. Thanks, guys. I do believe we get it, it might cost a little more than $10, I don't honestly remember, but I will take your word for it. I'd like to get a six pack and try it. I head it was similar to Pliny the Younger in taste and quality.

Although, I had Pliny the Elder and I wasn't exactly impressed. It was good, but I have had a lot better.

    =======================================
Edit: I was told by a local distributor that our market won't get the beer until between the last of Jan- 1st week of Feb. But they said to call around the 25th because they tend to sell within an hour (even with limits). So, that's what I'll do! Cheers!

Hopslam tastes completely different than Pliny.

Heady Topper is better, Hop Henge from Deschutes is better, Unearthly IPA from Southern Tier is better.

    Agreed

If you find it for $10 a 6pk, you better buy all you can.

Hopslam hit shelves at Bell's cafe, and other local kzoo spots today, and according to my local distro, we'll see it here in PA around 1/21.

Do you mean fegley's hopsolutely ? That stuff is FOUL. I actually returned 3/4ths of a 4 pack to Wegmans. Usually when I make a bad pick I'll suck it up, but it was not even drinkable when drunk.

    Interesting.
I don't think it's all that bad, unbalanced and boozy for sure, but fairly drinkable.
Weyerbacher Double Simcoe is another decent one.

Absolutely. I love trying the two versions side-by-side (big and small bottles.) Bottle-conditioning makes a big difference!
