    The Beer Share Picture Thread

This one deserves a special note. During Beer Week in Sacramento this year I was able to visit Rubicon for a night. They were doing a vertical tasting of North Coast Brewery's Old Stock Ale. This is '04, '06, '08, '10, and '12. Each was paired with a different cheese and served with Italian cold cut meats bread and table grapes. It was a mini experience.

Attended a pretty cool, invitation only, bottle share a few nights ago.
It's an bi-annual event at a local pub, whose owner is a very generous beer lover.
It started about three years ago, when a friend brought him a case of Westy 12 back from Belgium. He decided to hold an evening with friends, so that he could share this wonderful beer...thus, "A Night With Westy" was born.
There have been events without the Westy included, which are just great bottle shares, this night though we had another case of Westy 12 available!
It's the fifth one I've attended, and it gets more amazing every time. Free beer (everyone brings a little something), free food provided by the pub, and 3-4 hours of fun.

The entire Barrel Collection from Voodoo Brewing was put out, which not being able to make it to the release, made me very happy! Pappy Van Winkle Black Magick was beyond amazing.

A case of Heady was also laid out.

    Pretty cool canned home-brew.

A 10yr old Quad that aged wonderfully.

A 9yr old Barley-wine style ale that was tasting great...which I was glad to see, since I brought it I was hoping it wasn't well beyond it's time.

    Classic, and always delicious.

And the quickly emptied case, which everyone enjoyed tremendously.

    Cheers.

It was a lot of fun.
You've got an invitation any time.

Haha...indeed it was. The banana version actually, and I don't know if it ever got opened honestly.

I was truly surprised by the amount of unopened stuff...way more beer that the crowd could handle. I remember leaving, and seeing numerous unopened bottles of: Cantillon, Heady, Voodoo Barrel Variation, Founders Backstage, KBS, BCBS, etc.

    Just nutty.

Daaang. At our local shares we usually open everything and try it, then go back and finish the ones that were the best. And of course the more people have, the more likely they are to finish the others too. Good thing we're near public transportation!

So any standouts for you from the night?
