What wheels would you put on a Prime?
I am a big dude (260lbs) who rides in BC and rides everything...up and down. I am not hard on wheels, my last wheels lasted through 3 bikes (mavic 321's)....so what set would you choose?
2012 Easton Haven - $497.47
Hope Hoops Pro 2 Evo - Stans Flow - $491.92
Spank Oozy - $447.72
Does anyone know what the difference is between the 2012 and 2013 Havens?
I have the Haven Carbons and couldn't be happier with them= XC light, yet the stiffest wheels I've ever owned, regardless of size. compatible with all axle standards, Lighter and far stiffer than the hope/flow wheelset they replaced....However I can't say how the alu rim versions would hold up for you.
If you go Havens, just make sure the hubs either have the most recent internals, or are compatible with the free upgrade. See here for details. The upgrade is free, easy to install, and basically disables the rear axle pre-load so the hub assembles more like a hope hub (press fit, no preload required)
I would love to put the carbons on, but don't have that kind of coin...haha. Really leaning towards the Eastons...such a great deal.
