Scythe: Short Shock or DC w/ Angle Set

I need some input to help me which direction to go with this.

Over the winter I want to update some things on my Scythe. The bike was inspiring over the last season, but towards the end I started to wonder about changes. The biggest thing I would like to change is BB height. I ride the bike in the 7" DH or FR settings. The 8" settings make the bike feel too tall.

Now this was with a Totem up front. So I was thinking of putting a Boxxer with some kind of angle reducing headset (Works, K9) but after reading this, I am conflicted:

This is where I need a geometry lesson. With a 8" fork the BB height increases. Will an angle set bring that back down? Or would I be better off with a shorter shock?

The fork won't make the BB higher. A Totem and a Boxxer, for example, are almost exactly the same height. The angleset will lower it a little but not very much. If lower is what you want the shorter shock is the way to go.

That chart is exactly what I needed. I put it into excel for easier reading.

    Thanks!

Your welcome, I thought it was in excel format when I posted it, weird. Wait you even converted the BB height to US standard, awesome. Thanks for that.

colds14: it was kinda funny that everything was in inches except the BB height. looks like a short shock is the way to go.

and Hardtails Are Better: you are right the Totem and Boxxer have the same a to c, but according to the geo chart there is a difference. I wonder what a to c measurements were used for this chart.

    edit: site says 570mm
