New question here. Rune V1.5 shock options - a little help?

just picked up a Rune frame and need a shock.
I want to keep it a lighter build and desire Air as opposed to coil.

    I know the i2i and stroke = 7.875 x 2.25

    My question is:
Which air shocks really bring out the best Rune performance?
I remember reading it needs a high volume shock.

So what about the following choices:

    Fox DHX Air
    Fox RP2
    Fox RP23
    Rock Shox Monarch
    (don't care for Manitou)

I was thinking of the RP23 with the large Air canister.

    Any help is appreciated.

Forget fox and go Xfusion. I ran the Vector coil and Air on my Rune V1, both very nice shocks. The vector air also comes in pretty lightweight for a DH/AM shock with a piggyback reservoir.

i think you are making a mistake discounting the manitou. i have an isx-6 on my v1 rune and it is ridiculously good. no issues afaik other than some complaints that there are simply too many things you can tweak and adjust: it has as many tuning options as a ccdb plus volume adjust

I have my vector air hlr left over from my rune v1 since the shock size is different on the v2. I would be willing to sell it for the right price. I was kind of holding onto it in anticipation of building up a spitfire v2 in the next couple of years since it's such an awesome shock.

yeah I would love to check out pics if you have them, I also sent a private message.

Also...I emailed Banshee and they told me I should only use the DHX Air if I wanted the best performance.
They told me the RP23 should not be used.

I'm likely looking a t a new DHX air...but would be willing to check the Xfusion since so many people have positive results with it.

i just had some bad experiences with them. My last 2 Swinger Airs are still leaking oil all over the place.

That 2nd hand X-fusion HLR air is the best offer you'll get all day! It's one of the best air shocks on the market and if set up correctly can work very well on the rune V1.5.

An RP23 will work fine if it has a large volume air can.

    .........
yeah I'm very interested in the Xfusion.
Where are they sold brand new? I can't find any online retailers.

have you tried the RP23 with large volume can?
I just like these shocks because they have been so reliable for me.
I don't want to drop coin if it's going to ride like garbage though.

Yeah, I've ridden RP23 with large volume can, but I prefer the X-fusion.

I don't see any options to add anything to a cart.
Do I have to call them?

I'm trying to find how much these shocks cost.

Anyone, Keith perhaps, know which rebound and compression tune works best for the 2010 or 2011 Rune? Looking at the Monarch 4.2 for it.

Thanks Keith! I've always been impressed by your presence here and timely replies. On the shock it says 75 PSI. I'm guessing that's similar to Fox's Boost Valve? If so, do you know what tune 75 PSI equates to?

75PSI... erm... I'm afraid I don't know what that refers to... but I'd guess it was minimum pressure maybe? I suspect someone on here who knows more about rockshox rear shocks than me will be able to help.
