    non-XV CCDB on prime?

just got myself a 2013 banshee prime which came with the fox CTD shock. i have a CCDB air from my knolly chilcotin which i'm not using (chili is on a coil shock now). it's a high flow but does not carry the XV air can (no CS either).

i noticed early primes came with the regular air can while the newer (2013?) come with XV can. i'm sure there's a good reason to it but still i have to ask: is the XV really essential? did any of you guys up-grade from std to XV? any experience/comparison std CCDB vs. CTD?

and finally ... can anyone suggest a base setting for the std CCDB?

    cheers!

Not a big issue, been running the non XV DB Air for a year on my 2013 Prime and it rides great. I started with the base tune from Canecreeks website and then fine tuned from there.
Have a Fox CTD on another bike and hated it until I got it gutted/tuned from PUSH.

    non-XV CCDB on prime?

My Prime came with the regular air can on the CCDB, and I bought the XV can later on. After a few rides I switched back to the regular can as even with spacers installed, the XV can seemed to be lacking support in the mid-stroke.

I should add that I'm not the heaviest rider (155 lbs), so that could account for my preference for the smaller air can.

I found the Cane Creek base tune to be really good, although I followed Keith's suggestion on sag (13mm) rather than what CC says on their base tune page.
